Progress has always shaped human life. From simple tools to advanced technology, every step forward has made living easier. But an important question remains— is all progress truly beneficial, or does it come with a cost we often ignore? I recently came across a 19th-century quote that said humans use electric appliances for luxury and then work hard just to pay for them. Even today, this feels relevant. In our constant effort to improve our lifestyle, we often want something better than what we already have. While this brings comfort, it also fuels greed and overconsumption. Take the invention of the wheel. It started with a simple purpose and evolved into bicycles, cars, and advanced transport systems. Life became faster and easier—but at what cost?
